Pumpkin Patch

Happy Halloween!

For my housemate’s belated fall birthday, we went out to the Sauvie Island Maize Maze today to lose ourselves in rows of corn. After a downpour yesterday, today couldn’t have been more beautiful. With the orange and red leaves falling and dancing all around the streets, the drive along the Willamette looked like an autumn postcard.

Out at the farm, little children ran around the hay maze, families picked out their last-minute pumpkins, caramel apples came coated in candies, and the smell of kettle corn and hay mixed together in crisp fall air.

The actual maze was a muddy labarynth in the shape of Dracula. Despite the birthday girl’s hilariously muddy fall in the middle of the maze, we were very successful in navigating the corn paths and making it through! Mini pumpkins in hand we lined the car with paper towels and headed home to throw everything in the washing machine. Looking forward to lots of spooktacular fun tonight.
